For most of us, there is a void in our hearts and TV schedule as we anxiously await the next season of Game of Thrones. Pushing aside the violence and gore, we’ve taken a closer look at some of the show’s aesthetics to discover that there is some wonderful inspiration to be had for a wedding! Enjoy as we list out some of our favorite Game of Thrones treasures that could be incorporated into a beautiful wedding ceremony..
Wooden seating arrangements – Since we’re dating back centuries for Game of Thrones, it’s essential that seating arrangements be made of wood. We love the simplicity in the photos below – the dark and light shades of wood, the intricate handiwork on the outer rim of the chairs and wooden wall panels. And did you notice the notes on the back of the chair is written “My Lady” “My Lord” for the bride & groom? We love this!
Elaborate wedding attire – we love the elaborate corset ballgowns, intricate beading and sewing, the flow-y floor length skirts and floral hair accents for a bride. The men wear beautifully rich colored velvet attire and fur to keep them warm in the cold winter nights.
Sparse decorations – The simplicity of the time period calls for decor that may be minimalist, but rich in family traditions and creativity. Some great accessories are candles, maps for venue floor plans or wedding save the dates/invitations, sparse branches/flowers and leaves for the reception table decor.
