tanaRi events’ wedding: Gau and Caroline

One of tanaRi events’ sweetest couple, Gau and Caroline, were amazing to work with! Both so lovely and involved, we already knew the wedding was going to very special from the beginning.

Gau’s one request? He wanted to showcase his Indian culture through what it’s known for best: lots and lots of color. It was important to the groom to have his close family and friends participate in his culture through an Indian inspired ceremony.

On June 26th, we celebrated with Gau’s culture at the pdD Dream Lounge. As the venue was more known for their club scene, tanaRi events’ had adapted and transformed the location to a brighter, more colorful feel. The couple went with Mayuri’s Florals to decorate the venue with simplicity and elegance, and the mandap replaced the area where the DJ area. Vibrant cushions and lanterns were placed throughout the room to give a more festive look!

After our lovely bride and groom’s prep at the Maritime Hotel, Gau kicked off the ceremony with a grand entrance with his groomsmen and DJ Sunny as the dhol player. Caroline joined in by being walked out by her 4 closest family members, under a chandarvo, a tradition cloth covered canopy which is held above the bride’s head to cover her. The ceremony had live sitar and tabla player playing melodious music which made a beautiful backdrop. After the completion of the hindu ceremony, the guests were invited to participate by coming up to the couple one by one with fresh flower petals, to offer their blessings and love. A beautiful moment that was cherished by not just the couple but the guests as well! The blessings were followed by a fun Bollywood dance party, delicious catering from Bukhara, and special cocktails called Mumbai Mimosas and Bombay Bellinis as per the couple’s request!

On the next morning, the bridal party got ready at The Martime Hotel and enjoyed a beautiful shoot at the hotel property itself. Everyone then went to Roman Catholic, St. Francis Xavier church, located in the Flatiron District in Manhattan. Gau & Caroline exchanged their vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony at the church. Walking in on “Trumpet Voluntary”, the stunning bride Caroline made her grand entrance and in a very beautiful ceremony, two souls were united as one. After the magnificent ceremony, the wedding party moved to Battery Park that had a backdrop of the Statue of Liberty for their reception.

Following the simple and elegant theme with a touch of nautical, guests were provided specially made lobster stirrers to be used in the curated Maine-iac Mule Cocktail. The reception was celebrated with good music, food, speeches, and dancing to songs like Gau and Caroline’s favorite “Sweet Caroline”. City Sweets provided an opulent styled cake to match the incredible night! For more photographs from their wedding, feel free to check out our Instagram page @tanarievents
